Official 2009 Free Agent Tracking Thread (merged)

I always like Warrick at 'Cuse. I guess he's never really fulfilled his potential so far but it looks like he can try and fill the role that Charlie V played for the Bucks. So, huge chance for him.

Hall of Famer
I like that Big Ben is headed back to Detriot. He'll probably retire after this season, so I'm glad he's going to retire a Piston.

only player who I see that would made a decent pick up is Melvin Ely...can place limited minutes at backup C...decent D and a little bit of shot blocking..

Was in a rush when I posted that. I glanced over it quickly, but noticed that Diogu was on the list, and he was signed by the Hornets, as well as Baston who signed...somewhere. As it turns out, that might actually be it. Although some of the teams in the brackets are wrong, but certainly not a big deal. Didn't mean to call you out on it or anything, if that's how I came across. :)

np bro, I appreciate it -- I just did that real quick going off memory/what I know

I still think some of the guys listed aren't FA's but am too lazy to look them up individually/they don't make a difference anyways

your right about Baston -- I believe he signed in Israel?

on another note, Leon Powe -- 2 years min contract from Cleveland..second year being a team option..pending physical

why the hell were we not all over that? Powe has shown a lot of potential and we really had nothing to lose.

also, heres a list of players who may take minimum contracts and could help our team.

1. Melvin Ely -- provides us with our #1 need -- size and post D
2. Adonal Foyle -- gives us a shot blocker and post defender, past his prime but can still provide some minutes
3. Jason Collins -- big body, good defender, crafty veteran.
4. Jarron Collins -- same as Jason but slightly worse skill wise..
5. Brian Skinner -- smart, experienced, can block some shots and ad toughness
6. Stromile Swift -- Brian Skinner with a learning disability...

IMO if these guys are gone we really aren't going to sign anyone @ Free Agency that will make any team even a tiny bit better...

I was always a fan of Skinner when he was on the Kings roster... wouldn't mind seeing him back.
