Kings schedule workout with Julian Wright!

#8
I'm not big on either of the Wrights, I have a feeling both will be busts. In fact Julian is in my top 3 players who I would NOT like to see the Kings draft. Thornton and Brandon Wright are the other 2 on that list. I'd be happy with ANY of the other top prospects.

I think Thornton is too old and already about as developed as he is going to get and Julian is almost all athleticism without a lot of actual skill. Brandon I think will never develop.

Out of all the SFs I'd prefer Green or worst case Thad Young.

At least we are actually working people out again though.

It's about time. Jianlian, Conley, Wright, Noah, Hawes is the order I prefer them.
I'd put Noah ahead of Conley, other than that I agree. I understand Noah's shot is ugly but that can be developed and the rest of his game really is what the Kings need. If you remember that if he left college last year he very likely would have been the first pick. Most of all he has such a passion for the game and great leadership qualities, guys like that just find ways to succeed.

I don't get why you're saying Julian doesnt have any skills. He is an all around player. He has a lot of skills. People confuse shooting with skills I guess. The guy can pass, rebound, get steals, block shots, has excellent lateral quickness, and he is a good ball handler for a PF.

Wright definitely has skills, in fact I think he has a much better chance to succeed than Jeff Green just because of the difference in athleticism. However his position in the NBA will be SF which is fine, I wouldn't mind having him but we happen to have a logjam at SF right now with Artest, Garcia, and Salmons.

Considering his long arms and the fact that he's about 6'9'' in shoes I think he can play PF just fine. He has the same standing reach as Brandan Wright. He's a good rebounder and he's good at scoring in the post.

now is this from a college view point or nba? of course he can play PF in the kiddie league but how does he compare to the beasts of the nba? i hope he can play PF in the big leagues bucause usually long arms good post game good handles for a big men= good soild player so i hope he pans out if we nab him.

He's a bit of a tweener in the NBA honestly. But Josh Smith was succesful at PF this year, Kirilenko had his best year at PF, Diaw had his best year at PF, Marion has played PF effectively, Tyrus Thomas is about the same size and he's projected as a PF. He is more like Smith/Ty Thomas than Marion IMO. He's not a banger like Nene but he'll be able to score down low and around the 10-15 feet area kind of like KG does IMO.

i hope he's not like a boris diaw, ak47, marion type player; i would actually be pleased if he was like a tyrus or smith & overwhelmed if he was 3/4 of garnett but i don't think thats going to happend.

i just don't like his inconsistency. in his game against missouri, he looked like a superstar running the court with ease and scoring over 30 points, but in other games, its like he can't get a bucket no matter how hard he tries. They say his jumper is also too flat.
