you give some contested two's, to take away open 3's
That makes sense in theory but if you watch their rotations what they're trying to do is deny easy entry into the paint to force long twos. It's not a bad concept we just don't have the personnel to execute it correctly and as a result guys are forced to leave their assignments to help more than we want.

can only scheme based on who you have
OKC has the #1 defense with a scheme that isn't all that different than ours. For as much as people have been calling out the coaching staff for the defensive scheme being whack, that points to a personnel issue for me. Not to mention it's been cold shooting which allows teams to go on big runs against us. When we're scoring at a decent clip we're able to hold our own defensively.

I mean, if you have Top-25-in-the-league defenders at every position, you can probably get away with running whatever scheme you want.
