Hall of Famer
The simple fact that we could, quite possibly, sweep the defending champs in FOUR games in ROUND ONE of the playoffs is beyond wild to me right now.

Tough task? Absolutely. We're now heading to their house, and they are still the defending champions.
Possible? Absolutely. We actually ARE that damn good.
I think people around this country, around Europe, around Sacramento, and even around KingsFans.com may need to understand that "we actually ARE that damn good." That definitely includes me as I think I am finally getting it. It took all season and two games into the playoffs to understand.

I believe Draymond’s actions deserved a suspension. Stepping on someone’s chest is a pretty serious infraction in my opinion. That said, it might actually be better for the team if he plays. We don’t need any reason to let off the gas in this series. We need to approach each game with the “appropriate amount of fear” as we did the first two.
Draymond is an absolute P***K. He stomped another player - HARD & ON PURPOSE - while the guy was defenseless. And then didn't eve have th decency to pretend to be remorseful. He obviously has been and might yet be a difference-maker - in a legit way - on the court, but he's done diddly in two games so far. Draymond ain't Steph Curry; I wouldn't feel like a win against a DG-less Warriors squad was any less eamed than with him.

But it ain't even about that. To call what he did bush league is an insult to bush leagues and if the NBA has any integrity they'll slap at least a 1-game suspension on him.

Windhorst said something very interesting on khtk today in that the kings have the immense luxury of playing expectation free basketball. Nobody thought we would be where we are and everything from now on is gravy. He said the 76ers have immense pressure to win this year and may not even make it out of the 2nd round. He does have a valid point. We dont have an expectation other than we hope this lasts for a while so we can enjoy seeing them play more
This from the guy who said we're the mark everyone wants to play.

He may have a point but he's still just LeBron's coattail rider.

There's a big difference in fan expectations of various teams, for sure, but I don't think the gaps in expectations among the teams and players themselves are NEARLY as wide. Meaning: the Sixers, Bucks, Nuggets, Celtics, Suns, Grizz - those teams for sure have championship aspirations. But anyone think the Kings aren't carrying a HUGE chip on their shoulders?

They're the #3 seed and they're "the mark," the first-round matchup lower-seeded teams wanted?

They have home court advantage and were widely considered a BIG underdog to the #6 seed?

I didn't see ANY national talking head predict a Kings win over the Warriors and I saw a number who predicted a Warriors SWEEP.

That's just damn disrespectful. I have no idea how seriously our boyz take the idea that they could win it all this year, but I'm confident that they're not just happy to be in the 1st round of the playoffs.

I’m still curious why so many narratives keep saying “stepping on Domas”? When Green literally and physically “stomped on Domas”?? CALL IT WHAT IT WAS A STOMP. It could of gone so wrong for Domas and I’m very thankful it didn’t. ( And then thru his damn hissy fit antics TRYING to antagonize the Kings fans? He’s such a POS )

After reading all these comments in the back of my mind I keep reminding myself how I have believed in our Kings for so years just like so many of you , and I want to believe Adam Silver who was physically there saw with his own eyes the abusive stomp and the antics Green acted towards the Kings fans he’d step up and suspend him and fine him.

So now I’m sitting here SMFH because now I’m wondering in disbelief how the NBA could be totally ok with this. Shame on you just shame on you .

It's about money. Viewership. Keeping the series competitive. The league decided this was the marquee matchup of the first round. Suspending Green guarantees a short series.

It's because Adam Silver is trash. He is milking David Stern's last crop of stars for every penny he can and failing the new generation. He says players can promote social causes unless they get in the way of the bottom line like saying something bad about China or sitting out over Jacob Blake, he has allowed rampant tanking and "load management" essentially lighting the fan's hard earned money on fire if the game they bought tickets for has all the stars sit out because they are saving themselves for some other game. This guy is doing serious damage to the reputation that this is a serious league. And then he'll randomly fine the Mavericks for quitting in the final weekend of the season while San Antonio probably gets a top 3 pick? Let's not even with Detroit and Houston who are just ruining the early career development of some of the top picks of the last 3 years' drafts. Did he push for teams to just send LA quality role players for nothing? Nobody helps out the Yankees or the Patriots.

I'm sure the next tv deal will probably bail him out too, but he sucks.

I stated my view last night, my first time posting in a long time.
He needs to be suspended.
Using the old "reasonable person" standard no "reasonable person watching the various replays closely, with an eye and ears .and then hearing his little "conference"; then evaluating the event insearch of the truth could come to any other conclusion.
As Livinthedream stated, however...there are dollars involved here, and that will impact the case.

So, if he doesn't get suspended, what happens?
I believe the coaching staff is preparing the team for facing the Warriors with Draymond in the lineup. It is possible the team may use this as motivation to go harder in S.F. There is a lot on the line, pride...respect, you name it.
The usual talking heads were sorta a mixed bag today, some spent their time making excuses and dissing the Kings like they have for years, but a couple really hedged their bets, parsing their words...
Nothing would speak louder than winning 2 in their house.
Nothing.
They can do it. Everyone playing hard, playing Kings B-Ball, and they can do it.

---Just being able to have these conversations again after all the years of darkness has my face hurting from smiling so much.

Honestly, if you tell pre-season me that there'll be a time during this season when the Kings can mathematically sweep the Warriors in the Playoffs, I'd be so happy that I wouldn't even ask for anything for Xmas this year.

Just finished a re-watch of the local broadcast after watching on TNT last night. What an incredible game. Every Barnes dunk is a thing of beauty. Major contributions from everyone on the floor, save maybe Keegan - altho he contributed a bit on the boards and, more importantly, didn't make any rookie mistakes. A first year player facing the greatest team of the last decade has gotta be some kind of feeling. I'm sure he'll break out eventually, but we also have the luxury of getting so much production from elsewhere that we can do without it. In 3-5 years if this group stays healthy and together he's gonna be a problem.

GSW home / away splits are so absurd that we can't expect it to be so easy on Thursday. Two full days without Kings basketball is torture!

I still 100% think Green should be suspended but are we sure he isn't a bigger distraction to the dubs than he is to us at this point? For the most part he hasn't exactly phased our guys. Even Domas was quietly reserved in discussing the incident.
Domas handled that interview post game perfectly.
He said his peace, said it was playoff ball, but that that act didn't belong on the court, or words to that effect. He never let on if he was hurt bad, never gave any clue if Green had got to him, just sorta shrugged it off. Hard playoff ball.
Perfect.
Win the head game before you ever go on the court again. "That all ya got? OK, lets play"

Now look at the Kings home/away splits.

I thought this last group photo of the team after the game was the best one so I had a cheap poster made. I hung it up in the kitchen at my restaurant so whenever I have a bad day I can feel a bit better. Obviously I want more out of this run but it’s been such a blast all year and my favorite team ever even over the glory years. We deserved it! The season almost always ends up in heartbreak but no matter what I will look back on this year as my best as a fan! F Windhorst. Dude is so smug. Even him saying that is a subtle dig at the Kings trying to explain away the Kings success thus far. No Brian, the Kings aren’t up 2-0 because of a lack of expectations, the Kings are up 2-0 because they are doing what it takes to win basketball games and have the most clutch player in the league.

Gotta love these talking heads. First it’s the Kings lack of experience that will be their downfall, now it’s their lack of experience and with that, lack of expectations that have them up 2-0 on the defending champs. SMH.

Yeah, especially the live post-game interviewer was that Greenberg dude from TNT who ALWAYS tries to find a way to phrase his questions in a suggestive manner to insinuate beef/drama. He pushed Domas twice with two back-to-back questions and Domas didn't give in one inch and said exactly what was quoted above.

He's like a Range Rover, classy yet gritty.

Sports oriented media is not in business to "report" anything...they are in the business of selling advertising minutes, news papers, magazines, etc. The only media that has a vested interest in making an effort (however slight) to actually "report" is the local outlets.
They, more than others, know where their market is. They do best when they serve it...to a point.
When you get to TNT or ESPN or any of the other sources...truth, reporting, the stuff we really would actually go to them for...ain't their priority.
Pushing controversy, pushing buttons, and getting their mug or byline or words out is the mission...because that is where the bucks are.

The season almost always ends up in heartbreak but no matter what I will look back on this year as my best as a fan!
Legendary filmmaker Orson Welles once said, "If you want a happy ending, that depends on where you stop the story."

We already had multiple victories that no one thought we would even be close enough to sniff at.

We have a well-structured franchise with very capable giants of men in key areas of the franchise.

We have a great "soul"/culture where everyone in our roster contributes and feels needed/wanted.

We have two legit superstars at All-NBA first-team level. And a deep roster with many talents.

I can keep going but you get my point. For them, destiny is, of course, the trophy and the rings. But don't let that rob us of enjoying the process, especially since it has been as thrilling as you can possibly ask for. And as dramatic as a Hollywood movie script (I mean, the franchise with the longest Playoffs drought landed on the former champ's doorsteps in their first returning to the postseason, and the Youngblood is beating the former champ with grit and strategies no one thought they possessed is nothing short of extraordinary.)

I'd obviously root for them to go as far as they can but personally, I'm already celebrating.

Great interview. Said all the right things, gave proper props to his team mates, displayed confidence without dissing opponents and providing them extra motivation, and overall excellent and composed demeanor.

Many of the questions are silly, with boiler plate answers. I mean how are you supposed to respond when asked a question about your teammate. Obviously unless you are talking about Simmons, or something similar, you are going to give props to a guy. I liked that Fox credited Davion for his own improved offensive game.

Agreed, and the issue is that more players might be willing to do similar things without punishment being applied. Heck, I definitely see Green doing this again. What did he lose? Nothing. He got kicked out of a game they were losing anyways. He doesn't miss any games. I totally see him doing this (or something similar) to other players as long as he doesn't suffer any severe repercussions.
