Not just the shot. On offense, he's a below average passer. Especially so for a PG. Count the number of times he drives and passes to the perimeter. It's rare. Very, very, very rare.

The idea that he's close to a consistent all star level talent is laughable.
maaaaaaan, those two weeks across two little winning streaks last season seem like they were a decade ago.

Man, Hali’s been the disappointment of the year. I expected a fun leap but he’s regressed across the board.
He's been close to what you'd expect if you saw him in college. His fun leap will always come at the result of his team, he's a glue guy. It's about time he starts dialing in his offensive skillset. Refine that side pick and roll jumper, get used to that floater going in, and take the open jumpers on spot shots.

It's not though. That's what got Monte into the pickle he's put himself in with the backcourt. There is a clear path to winning in the league right now and versatility on the wing and shooting ability are the prime components. GM'ing isn't hard if you are just trying to compete. Take the teams above yours, and copy off of their homework. Don't try and convince people that you just drafted the first barely 6 foot guard that can play 5 positions. Gosh, and people blasted Vlade for saying Bags could play SF, lol.
Tell me another guy on our team that can go out and get 25 points on a consistent game like Derozan…..and I’m not saying Derozan is the key but Chicago now has 2 guys who can get theirs at a high level and they are surrounded with solid role playing pieces. My point is if we add a guy like that, that is our path to winning. How do we get that guy is the problem

Really feels like Luke ruined him by convincing him that he was a primary facilitator and trying to craft him into a ball distributor like Lamelo Ball. That's just not Tyrese's game.

To your point, Buddy Hield is actually getting paid the most for having his statline.

(Here are the top 44 names ahead of Buddy, you be the judge: Steph, John Wall, Harden, Russ, KD, Lebron, Giannis, Lillard, PG13, Kawhi, Klay, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, Khris Middleton, AD, Gobert, Irving, Brad Beal, Simmons, Siakam, Jrue Holiday, KAT, KP, D-Book, Jokic, Wiggins, Embiid, K. Love, McCollum, CP3, D-Lo, Haywood, BI, Jamal Murray, Fox, Tatum, Bam, Donovan Mitchell, Al Horford, Lowry, Jaylen Brown, DeRozan, Draymond, and Vuc.)
I'd like to see the guys who supposedly are worse than Buddy Hield, like about 30 slots lower.

It's not all that surprising though.

His takes to the rim are some of the softest I've ever seen. He's good at the floater but there's a reason people clowned Justin Jackson for going to it all the time. As long as he doesn't improve his shot creation ability, he won't be a star and will always have to play second banana to a ball dominant guard.

Chicago is a real fun team to watch this season

I hated the Davion pick. Not because of who he is as a player, but because his fit and age mean the chance of him being a star are very, very low.

Evan Mobley or Scottie Barnes could have changed this franchise. Mitchell will likely be a solid complimentary player. That's a massive difference just from picking 9th instead of 3rd or 4th in this last draft.

And we'll almost certainly see the same thing again for this next draft. So frustrating.
That's way the ping pong ball falls.

That's not the issue when you are that subpar as a whole in shooting ability. The question is what do those 25 points look like. Yeah, it would be nice to have but how much better are you? DD, Fox, and Holmes is a lot different than what you see with the Bulls shooting wise.

Derozan or whoever we have been running out there at SF? I’ll go out on a limb and say we would be better.

This must be the fastest NBA game ever. Lolzzz. The refs and the players are in cahoots to get it over with ASAP.
Quite possibly the first time where the home team, the away team, the fans, the ref, and the NBA organization as a whole all wholeheartedly want this game to be over with.

I'd take that role player back anyday. The Hali from last year was incredibly valuable with his spot-shooting, secondary creation, good in the passing lanes. I wonder if the adjustment of giving him more time with the ball is just a role "out of reach" for him.
