[Game] Kings v. Nuggets - Saturday, Nov. 30 - 2 PT, 5 ET

Not only that. Teams are truly only concerned with 1 person on the roster and that's Buddy. Makes scouting a team a lot easier.
Yeah, and as a result teams are giving the Kings an easy path to getting a good shot though. No team should shut you down doubling on pick and roll in this era. That means they are leaving an easy spot shot 3 on the floor somewhere.

I agree, but they don't care about CoJo, and Holmes is not hitting a 3. So teams are comfortable taking their chances using 5 players to guard 3.

I was a little miffed at the style the Kings were playing there but I expect Walton to adjust 2nd half. The Kings rarely show success trying to pound small guys on switches since the bigs are required to space the floor on this team. This is the same thing Walton did last time as well. Instead of creating a mismatch with Jokic in pick and roll where he has to play out or switch, they are attempting to pound the Nuggets. Maybe with Bagley and Fox back they can do that, not now. If they are going to send their whole defense to Buddy, good, you've got 'em right where you want them. But they have to give Buddy an easy pass with his lack of lateral dribbling ability.

This is also another game where the Kings get absolutely no transition looks. Everything is in the half court right where the Nuggets want them. It's time to start letting these guys loose and not call everything out.

That's another thing I didn't like early. They were trying to get Joseph near the basket in the paint way too much. He needs to be the Derek Fisher type. Not Andre Miller. Be an outlet, not a full fledged facilitator. As for Holmes he needs to dig in on those screens like Dedmon does when teams don't show out. That will leave the shooter wide open on the other side.

Fisher was a good outside shooter.

Holmes has historically not been a terrible shooter. He just refuses to shoot for some reason.
I have not given up any hope that Holmes is going to take a big step up on the offensive side of the ball. I just don't know when. He's got touch, a very good first step for a guy his size, and fluidity around the basket. There's no reason he can't contribute much more on offense down the line.
