Preseason Kings vs. Jazz

See, why can't they just run what the Jazz are? The Jazz are keeping the entire painted area clear. Imagine that with someone like Fox at the helm and Buddy waiting to catch and shoot. This is a travesty.

That's because the only game you've been watching is doncic
Jesus Christ dude, the man has 15 and 8 in 18 minutes and you're ragging on him like he's Derrick Williams actively avoiding the ball off the board.
The issue in this game isn’t Bagley. Bagley has 15 points and 8 boards. Fox has 4 points on 1-7 shooting with 1 assist. Those stats are in 24 minutes of play. Bag on Bagley all you want but the problem is Fox. At least Buddy has 7 assists.
I want my number 2 pick to be able to get his own buckets is that much to ask for. You get drafted that high to be a playmaker. I like him at Center though he’s be good around shooters.

If Fox were to pass it at the right time and right spot. I don’t think it’s just because Jeoger is playing Fox off the ball more and more.

Tough game to watch. The Kings have limited ball movement and the Jazz crisply move the ball around to get a wide open look/dunk. The Kings have perfected the drive into trees move.

This unit can really put this Kings offense into a nice tight little nutshell. Anyone with a brain would look at them as say, gee, lets see what Skal can do. But it's more system, system, system where Skal is a decoy to get a shot for Cam Reynolds? The Kings need a coach that understands their personnel and who to gear the offense toward. Unselfish ball is one thing, passing is another, and while open shots are good, teams win based on who is taking most of them and it's a coaches job to make sure those shots go to the players who should be taking them.

Again, what I'm seeing is spacing. You can't get into the lane with 3 defenders hanging around with one offensive player making a 20% success rate back door attempt and two offensive bigs in a horn set. Passing is easy in a drive and dish system. Which is what the Kings should be running.

Joerger isnt doing crap tbh, we don’t hv the tank excuse this year and it looks like our offense and denfense is the worst in the league by a mile
I've hated what he's done from day 1 and it looks much the same, but even I have to say it isn't this bad. I don't think the Kings are better off playing this style but they will be better than this at it.

This team will be hard pressed to win 25 games.
There just isn’t enough established NBA caliber talent on this team. I see a lot of young athletes kids who are not ready to compete at the NBA level. They don’t play ANY defense and offensively they are not very good either. It’s going to be a long and painful season. Hopefully by the end of the season 1 or 2 of the young players will establish that they belong in the NBA

Who does he take minutes from though? Reward your teams future. No more minutes going to players that aren't in the long term plans although Iman is a strange case because he's not old by any stretch. Last year they used the "learning" tag line, this year it was supposed to be wheels off. If someone is soft or doesn't fit build them up and move them. They have to start being fairly clear on who they have before their rookie deals are up. Saying you have to wait years to see anything is nothing more than a GM or a coach flipping the hour glass back around and attempting to convince those who saw it that they really didn't.
He can easily take minutes from JJ at the 3 or Mason at the 2 until Bogs comes back. (At this point nobody can say whether JJ or Mason is in the long term plans). I thought he played pretty well tonight for a guy who hasn't played in a long time. Give him two or three weeks and he looks like he makes a positive impact on this team. This team needs his defensive toughness so badly...

I can see it, but as you said, until Bogdan comes back. Iman is yet another SG who is really more of a combo PG/SG historically. That's a tough spot to be in with a team overloaded at both ends and a coach who seemingly loves small dual PG lineups.

Kings couldn't guard a simple pick and roll. As Christie said during the game: Why didn't they start with defensive pressure at the beginning of the game, not the start of the 2nd half? Painful game to watch.

Play of the game from the Kings' perspective: Bagley taking the rebound coast to coast for a layup.
