Do you agree with the extension?

This is of course zero surprise to me and the other People Who Are Always Right around here.

However I do continue to be delighted to see DMC growing in his "media relations" skills. This was absolute gold.

Mark my words. Media darling.

I even heard on a recent broadcast the opposing teams announcers, in the middle of harping on Cuz for his usual ref antics say, I kid you not, "He is great for the League." That may seem incongruous but it is not.

It's because they get it. They get that this is ultimately a show, and that is how everybody gets paid, and Cousins has a bit of a showman in him. And it is the truth. Cousins is great for this league.

When we start winning that's when the shackles come off. He knows he can't say much until that happens. It's no coincidence that his first real interview moment came IMMEDIATELY after the first major statement game of his career.

This is great news. I took a break from here because the team was starting to agitate me too much with their inconsistency and lack of focus, and it's still a problem, but I'm really happy there's some long term direction now. They seemed to be in this no man's land where they couldn't do anything...didn't have the assets to immediately improve and were afraid to tank because it might drive away Cuz.

Even though my number 1 stated preference was to completely blow it all up, start over, and go all in on this draft, this is the next best thing. At worst, if they still have to trade Cousins they won't be in a position of desperation with FA looming. Now that Cuz appears to be down with the long term plan here--and hopefully Vlade has been honest with him and himself that this team is still several moves away from being a solid playoff contender--we can start draining the swamp.

Rudy, Ben, DC, and WCS absolutely need to be moved before the deadline, even if it hurts our chances at the 8th seed. Rudy, Ben, and DC will not be back next season, nor should they be brought back, and WCS looks like he's either contracted the zombie virus or spends way too much time at the dispensary. I think it's imperative we keep our top 10 protected pick this year with this looking like an all time great draft class. I would still like to acquire Cam Payne if that's still a thing.

Just my thoughts.

Welcome back!

Moving Rudy or DC may become a problem. I think Cousins made it kinda clear in the interview with Carmichael Dave, that he believes in this team. He said, that it feels different this year and that he thinks the people, who want to tear this team down to rebuild are wrong. He sounds desperate to make the Playoffs this season.
This leads to the question, if the FO can risk it to trade Rudy or DC. If DMC is onboard with it or they bring back players, who can help us right away this shouldn't be a problem. But trading those guys for young talent or low value, to at least get something in return seems more and more unlikely.
And while I absolutely want DMC to stay and want him to be successful, I personally think trading Rudy and our expiring guys is the best thing we can do to help us building a winner in the long run. I don't believe in this short term "Playoffs at all costs" strategy.
And as much as Boogie believes in his teammates, I still don't think this team is well built and good enough to make the PO, unless Boogie plays absolutely out of his mind from here on out and stays 100% healthy.

Other than Willie, I agree about the other three needing to go. We need to be patient with Willie, if it means sitting him out for the majority of the season then by all means do what is necessary and show him that if he doesn't put in the work and effort, he won't play. I have a longer leash for younger players, it's his second year and Kings can't continue to afford to toss away lottery selections without at least trying to turn him into a productive player.

I don't think he is calling Furillo a scumbag for saying no. Probably has more to do with his prior activities.
A valid point on my re-reading of the post. That's what you get when you lump a whole bunch of opinions from different posters together.

But I do think posts like saying fans don't deserve such and such (KINGS FANS OF ALL PEOPLE! Fans who have stuck around for a decade or more of losing ... apparently now don't deserve this and that because they disagree with certain moves.), or that reporters that don't support the key player on a losing team need to be run out of town are really over the top. Oh well, shouldn't expect much more from a basketball forum I guess.

These are serious questions (not a criticism):

How many players in the history of the NBA have signed a max deal without ever having experienced a winning record or a playoff game?

Also, how many players in the history of the NBA became the highest paid in the league without ever having experienced a winning record or a playoff game?
