Still guys out there to be had. I'd really like Lee, Anderson or Crabbe or Rondo. I could live with Waiters or Stephenson as both have issues but they also have some talent. Can Joerger bring it out of them.? Happy that we didnt shell out 13M per for a guy like Soloman Hill. We do need to sign guards to increase our talent level though. Like last year when Vlade added Bellinelli and even after a bad year we still got a 1st for Bellinelli.

Eric Gordon is still out there, Tyreke, just add talent at the guards position and don't get shut out.

If we can't get crabbe or lee. At this point I'm fine with something along the lines of rondo at $10-12 mil short term, RA at $16-18 and maybe Seth or afflalo as a stop gap sg until bogdan comes over.

There's a HUGE difference between the two. We saw a strong 30 games last season where Joerger brought the best out of Lance and got him playing near his old self. I'd be confident he could keep him focused once Lance gets his paycheck again. Waiters.. not so much.

If someone wants to quit being a fan of Sac because of a signing.....that's unKing's fan like. Sheesh.
It's a lot more than "a" signing. It's trying to be hopeful that we've finally got a front office that won't make typical Kings decisions and then being disappointed yet again.

I think some of the Kings defensive woes last year were on Karl, but I just can't be fine with them being even worse or at best equal defensively on paper. Watching the two real defenders last year go elsewhere was one thing but with how many options there are this summer it would hurt.

Understood what your saying, I don't get the "take my ball and go home mentality". It just bugs me.

I could actually understand our interest in Waiters if both Lee and Crabbe were gone. But with the Trail Blazers paying Turner nearly 20 mill and chasing Gasol and Howard this is the time were we need to make Crabbe a significant offer. Then sign a decent vet backup pg and stay the hell out of the rest of free agency

The problem is that we are being linked to waiters and delly who was overpaid for. We weren't too far off a playoff spot (I know it was an off year for the west) so I'm fine with another year of rondo. The chunk of the rest of the cap should go to a starting sg, but if crabbe and lee aren't coming here, then use it on a stretch 4 that will help space the floor for dmc and who actually wants to be here as opposed to dion fn waiters.

Al Jefferson signed with Indiana for 3yrs/$30 million. Compared to some of the crazy money being thrown around right now, that's a steal. Indiana is running laps around the rest of the league this off-season.
Teague, Young and Al Jeff is a hell of an off-season. If they can keep Mahinmi, it's hard to have a better off-season other than landing Durant or LeBron

Like proposed Rudy trades people expectations for free agency were overly optimistic. 30 million in cap spaces doesn't mean what it use to. Especially during a summer where every team is in the same ballpark cap wise. You're still the Kings and you aren't likely to sign your starting back court, or at least one that's any good.

sdballer has it. It has nothing to do with Waiters. I'd said at the end of the season that no matter what the Kings did this offseason I'd give them one more season to improve in the short term, show a long term potential or even successfully start a rebuild. Something. Something other than another losing season without hope that they were at least moving in the right direction.

Being constantly disappointed by the Kings isn't improving my life. Ups and downs are one thing. Constant mismanagement either intentionally (last of the Maloof years) or unintentionally (Vivek thus far) isn't acceptable. I'm happy to pay to take my family to a game in that beautiful arena but I want to see a team that at least competes. That is worth rooting for. That I can have faith will improve rather than continue to stagnate or regress.

But I've felt like Charlie Brown with the football year after year after year. So I'm giving Vivek, Vlade and Joerger one more season to show me they get it.
