The recent "news" of Antawn Jamison joining the 20K point club got me curious about something, so I did a little homework: As of today, there are forty-three members of the 20,000 point club. Of those 43, only eight of them played their entire careers prior to when the three-point line was added in 1979. Of the thirty-five members of the 20K-point club who have played at least part of their careers in the three-point era, only one of them scored 20,000+ points without at least one made three-pointer.

Does anyone know, without checking, who that is?

not a perfect comparison by any means, but anybody else here that sees similarities between this year's Portland Trailblazers and the Dallas Mavericks circa 2002-2003? a jump shot centric team with, at best, middling defence that seems built for the regular season and that caught an insanely hot start to begin the season. plus, the obvious similarity between their respective franchise players. kinda fits, no?

Mitch Richmond? His toe was always on the line!

But for real, Olajuwon? Not sure if he is 20K
Olajuwon had several seasons where he went "oh-fer," but he ended up averaging more than a three per season over his career. Including the year he won his first championship, where he shot .421 from three that season.

Is anyone else that watches games on NBA League Pass annoyed by those State Farm CP3 commercials that crank the volume up to max?

Warhawk with the winner!

Robert Parish is the only member of the 20K-point club (23,334) to have played any portion of his career after the 1979-80 season, without a single made three-pointer.

EDIT - Not only is Howard nowhere near 20K but, if his current scoring average holds up, he's only 50/50 to crack 14K before the end of the season. B-R.com shows him as thirty-second among active scorers, although it should be noted that they also list Tracy McGrady, Jerry Stackhouse, Juwan Howard and Corey Maggette as "active" players.

EDIT the Second - Also, Howard has three made threes on his career.

 As someone who was a Celtics fan at the time, I'm somewhat abashed to admit his name didn't even cross my mind...

Sweet! Lucky guess. Just "shooting" for centers that I didn't think would be jacking up 3's. :D And my 3 guesses had a total of 4 made 3's. Not bad!

The quietest surprise this year has been how much the TWolves are struggling. I think there's a slight chance they might be blowing up that team in a year's time if they feel they can't retain Love.

I'd figure they'd be a playoff team, which means better than .500 in the west. Maybe I'm underselling them, but I thought they'd be in better shape than Dallas.

they've had one of the hardest schedules and had one of their few shooters go down (again). they could still be better than they are now. would help if Rubio could score/shoot even a little bit, though.

Listening to Pelicans/Clippers via ALP: their studio guy mentioned the Spurs/Suns game, and said that, coming into the night, Tim Duncan had more career minutes than the entire Suns roster combined.

What's up with this Giannis mania? Went to a bucks forum and read some of them saying they wouldn't trade him except for lebron/Durant etc. Some were saying they would take oladipo AND Orlando's unprotected first this year. I haven't seen him and I dont see it in the stats.
